Fun part — Friday night was the night to go for two-point conversions and a win in the playoffs in Spokane.

Not-so-fun part — the higher-seeded 3A Greater Spokane League hosts came out on the losing end of both last-second decisions.

In a wild flurry of events some 15 miles away from each other, No. 22 seed Southridge converted a two-point play to stun Mount Spokane, 29-28, at Union Stadium while 3A GSL top seed Cheney was stopped on its bid, and fell to No. 26 seed Ferndale, 35-34, at Roos Field at Eastern Washington University.
