3 Mat Classic championship matches you shouldn't have missed in 4A/3A on Friday
Tahoma showcases dominance in clinching third consecutive 4A team championship while two more boys - University’s Czar Quintanilla and Arlington’s Tre Haines - become four-time champions
TACOMA, Wash. — Bravely, the tight-knit Tahoma wrestling troop re-enacted a flavor of world history at Mat Classic XXXVII in its run to a third consecutive Class 4A championship Friday night.
The uniting theme worked - the Bears had 12 wrestlers get on the podium, including three state champions. They also set the tournament record for points scored (283.5) in holding off runner-up Gonzaga Prep (251.5).
“They exceeded the standard,” longtime Tahoma coach Chris Feist said.
