FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Yattah Reed knows the enormity of putting on an MLK Day holiday basketball showcase.

Imagine what it’s like to be a tournament coordinator, varsity boys coach and — at least this year — a parent involved all at once.

That is how Reed’s day went Monday in pulling off another successful MLK “The Dream” Showcase in its fourth year at Federal Way High School.

“For me, it is fulfilling, just because it’s something we get to do in our community,” Reed said. “Having all of our staff sacrifice their day off by doing 14-hour shifts to support an event in remembrance of Dr. King, it is really something I enjoy seeing.”
