As far as social media posts go, it was the loudest of emergency sirens.

The Oakville Acorns, a playoff-contending eight-man football program located in Grays Harbor County, saw second-year coach Camren Bowes suddenly resign following spring ball.

Weeks went by. No prospective coach stepped forward to show interest as a replacement. Supporters of the program were so stricken with panic, they created a graphic last week advertising potentially dire news about the program’s status on Facebook.
