Can Lincoln of Tacoma girls flag football finish what it started?
Abes captured first state all-classification championship when sport was non-sanctioned in 2023 — and enter first WIAA season as 3A top seed after winning District 3 title

TACOMA, Wash. — In 2023, Teuaililo “Lilo” Time was a wide receiver as a ninth grader on the Lincoln of Tacoma girls flag team that won the first state championship as a club sport.
And now as a senior, she is the two-way standout at quarterback and defensive back on the Abes’ squad that is in pursuit of the first WIAA Class 3A girls flag football crown.
“As someone who has played four years, and won the first state championship … to winning the first (official) district championship, it’s just an honor,” Time said. “I am in awe and at a loss for words.”
Lincoln captured that first District 3 title Saturday by holding off first-year 3A NPSL champion White River, 21-14, in the championship game Saturday at Mount Tahoma Stadium.
