Ready or not, the WIAA’s newest and arguably most exciting sport is now ready to take off.
After three seasons as a club sport, girls flag football was approved by the WIAA last spring to become the state’s newest sanctioned sport.
This winter, 94 schools will field varsity girls flag football teams, aiming to reach the state championships held Feb. 13-14 at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.
