Fulfilling her promise, Oliviyah Edwards leads Lincoln girls basketball back to WIAA playoffs
Five-star Tennessee signee has 27 points and 18 rebounds as Abes defeat Bellarmine Prep, 45-35, in a 3A all-or-nothing consolation district game at Foss High School
TACOMA, Wash. — In a make-the-most-of-it moment, after Oliviyah Edwards returned to the Lincoln High School girls basketball program following a two-year hiatus, she proclaimed the Abes would make the WIAA playoffs.
A few folks snickered. Many shook their heads in disbelief.
Had she seen the untidy, undermanned squad to which she was returning?
In the end, it didn’t matter. Edwards’ word came true.
