Graham-Kapowsin takes home first Lakewood Cougars championship 7-on-7 passing tournament title over 14 other teams Saturday

ARLINGTON, Wash. — Footballs were in the air often at the 18th annual Lakewood Cougars championship 7-on-7 passing tournament Saturday, signaling the conclusion of summer high school football in the state of Washington.

4A SPSL powerhouse Graham-Kapowsin outlasted some of the state’s best programs, including two-time defending event champion Lake Stevens, Anacortes, Bothell, Kennedy Catholic and Lincoln of Tacoma, for the championship.

The four semifinalists were Graham-Kapowsin, Lake Stevens, Anacortes and Roosevelt.

Others participating included Blaine, Cedarcrest, Foster, Moses Lake, Prosser, Snohomish and host Lakewood.
