Garfield High School boys basketball has a new leading voice ... and it might surprise you

Bulldogs hire Kabre Keller, who has most recently been the women's coach at Tacoma Community College, to replace popular Brandon Roy

At the 3A Metro League preseason boys basketball coaches meeting Tuesday, the usual state-championship voices spoke up — Rainier Beach’s Mike Bethea and O’Dea’s Jason Kerr.

With his back against the wall, Kabre Keller stood away from it all, keeping a respectful distance.

It wasn’t until all the coaches went around a circle to introduce (or reintroduce) themselves did Keller get to say who he was:
