FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Few teams are equipped to engage in a football slobberknocker with the sixth-ranked Enumclaw Hornets — and survive.

Federal Way did, and put a big scare into the Hornets in a 3A NPSL showdown Thursday night.

Sophomore Paxton Patterson rushed for a game-high 134 yards, including the game-winning 27-yard touchdown run with 32.7 seconds remaining as Enumclaw held off the host Eagles, 14-7, at Federal Way Memorial Field.
