Plus, VarsityWA selects all-classification offensive, defensive and all-purpose players of the year, coach of the year and more
The inaugural VarsityWA postseason all-state high school football team — spanning every WIAA classification — has been decided, and published in two parts starting Wednesday.
PART I: All-classification individual awards — including the state player of the year, offensive, defensive and all-purpose players of the year, lineman of the year, breakout player of the year, underclassman of the year, and coach of the year — were released Wednesday.
VarsityWA has also selected a player of the year and coach of the year for each of the six classifications.
PART II: The all-classification all-state first team, which has 15 players on offense and 15 players on defense, was released Saturday, as well as honorable-mention recognition.
Players selected for the elevated all-classification individual awards (such as overall MVP Lance McGee, of Sumner) were in their own all-state category, and therefore not selected as duplicates for this all-state first team.
Overall, VarsityWA awarded 80 postseason honors, recognizing players and coaches around the state for achievements during the 2025 season.
