The 14th — and final — full week of the high school basketball season in Washington featured big individual playmaking and defensive performances in state tournaments in Tacoma, Yakima and Spokane.
Here are 10 standouts up for VarsityWA’s Basketball Athlete of the Week voting for games played in state tournaments March 4-7:
Jalen Davis, Bremerton boys basketball: Junior averaged 24.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.3 steals in three wins at the Yakima Valley SunDome for the back-to-back 2A state champion Knights, and was voted tournament MVP.
June Fiander, Zillah girls basketball: Senior averaged 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists in three wins at Yakima Valley SunDome for the 1A state champions, including a game-high 25 points in the title-game win over King’s.
Cheyenne Hull, Davis girls basketball: Junior averaged 17.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals in three wins at the Tacoma Dome for the back-to-back 4A state champion Pirates.
Micah Ili-Meneese, Rainier Beach boys basketball: Junior averaged 20.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 4.7 steals in three wins at the Tacoma Dome for the back-to-back 3A state champion Vikings.
Adrik Jenkin, Colfax boys basketball: Senior guard averaged 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in three wins at the Spokane Arena for the 2B state champion Bulldogs, including 33 points and 12 rebounds in the title game against Adna.
Amy Nduka, Eastside Catholic girls basketball: Sophomore averaged 20.3 points, 11 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 2.7 blocks and 2.3 steals in three wins at the Tacoma Dome for the 3A state champion Crusaders.
Nellie Nicholls, Cle Elum-Roslyn girls basketball: Junior averaged 27.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in three wins at the Spokane Arena for the 2B state champion Warriors.
Landen Northrop, Richland boys basketball: Senior averaged 24.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals in three wins at the Tacoma Dome for the 4A state champion Bombers.
Finley Parcher, Lynden girls basketball: Junior averaged 17.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three wins at the Yakima Valley SunDome for the now three-time defending 2A state champion Lions, and was voted tournament MVP.
Jerome Toby, Lummi Nation boys basketball: Senior averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals in three wins at the Spokane Arena for the back-to-back 1B state champion Blackhawks.
