What happens when a pair of WIAA small-school softball champions meet on turf
In the first of a nonleague showdown series between 1A champion Montesano and 2B champion Adna, the Bulldogs eke out a 2-1 victory Friday
MONTESANO, Wash. — In that rare dream-like occurrence, it was WIAA softball champion versus a fellow state champion Friday.
It was top-ranked Class 1A Montesano hosting No. 1 Class 2B Adna in what’s become an annual two-step showdown of small-school powerhouse programs.
And the game lived up to its billing as Taylor Galvin’s two-run home run in the fourth inning was the difference in Montesano’s 2-1 victory at Dick Tagman Field.
