PARKLAND, Wash. — For those who became captivated by the Nate Donavan-to-Braylon Pope downfield connections with Sumner football over the past two seasons, new starting quarterback Brennan Abbott has a message for you:

Pope — the state’s top 2026 receiving prospect headed to the University of Washington — will not be underthrown as a deep target this fall.

“For sure, I have the arm strength,” Abbott said.
