FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A month ago, the Class 3A top-ranked Bellevue girls came up short in their bid to take down 4A giant Davis.

Topping 4A No. 2 Sumner isn’t a bad consolation prize.

Led by guard Syesha Simanton’s team-high 16 points, the Wolverines overcame a late Sumner charge to post a 62-55 victory Monday night at the MLK “The Dream” Showcase at Federal Way High School.
