The high school football state playoffs have arrived, and VarsityWA will be tracking the results of first-round games in every classification.

CLASS 4A
FRIDAY
No. 1 Puyallup 52, No. 16 Eastlake 7
Briytan Bailey rushed for 182 yards and three touchdowns and Viks held Wolves out of end zone until late in fourth in decisive opening-round win.

Jonah Keller led the way with three rushing TDs as Bullpups rolled to first-round win in Spokane.

QB Blake Moser had five TD passes, including two to Seth Price, and Jayvian Ferrell rushed for two more scores as Vikings rolled in first round.

Sophomore QB A.J. Tuivaiave had four TD passes and Eagles piled up 326 yards on offense to set up quarterfinals trip to Spokane.

Linebacker Lee Snyder stuffed Patriots’ go-ahead two-point conversion attempt on Josh Feren’s sweep run with seven seconds remaining.

Thunderbirds’ offense piled up 475 yards — led by QB Mikkah Cordero’s 236 passing yards and four total TDs — in first-round victory.

Reylen Witherspoon rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns, and Marvin Kalepo’s fumble return for a score was one of three turnovers the Wolverines forced in a shutout win.

Crusaders defense held Suns to 169 yards and late touchdown in first-round win in Sammamish.
No. 6 Kennewick 28, No. 11 Enumclaw 7
Dominic Driver had two TD passes, Jose Campos sealed win with fourth-quarter pick-six and Lions never trailed in besting Enumclaw in first round for second consecutive season.
No. 8 Sedro-Woolley 28, No. 9 White River 7
Kolyn Rochester scored three touchdowns, and the Cubs erased an early deficit to earn a first-round victory in a matchup of undefeated league champions.

T-Birds rolled to quarterfinals behind five rushing TDs — three from Gavin Kaikkonen — and two Jaxon Budd-to-Evan Baxter scoring connections.
No. 7 Franklin Pierce 36, No. 10 W.F. West 21
Bearcats won this matchup, 27-8, in the quarterfinals last season. Not this time — Cardinals advance, led by Bryson Allen’s 145 rushing yards and three TDs.

No. 5 Anacortes 45, No. 12 Steilacoom 7
Zeke Hawkins picked off three passes — and returned two for TDs — as the two-time defending 2A champion Seahawks advanced.
No. 1 Archbishop Murphy 45, No. 16 Olympic 13
The Wildcats trailed for the first time all season (6-0) in the first quarter, but recovered behind four rushing touchdowns by Isaiah Smith, who also had an interception on defense in the win.
No. 3 East Valley of Yakima 56, No. 14 Burlington-Edison 22
Red Devils had 500 yards of offense, led by Jaxon Berg (305 passing yards, five TDs), Greyson Stevens (193 receiving yards, four TDs; INT on defense) and Cody Gasseling (230 total yards, three total TDs).
No. 6 Lynden 28, No. 11 West Valley of Spokane 14
Max Assink rushed for three second-half touchdowns as the Lions rolled up 311 rushing yards in a comeback win over the Eagles.
No. 9 Sehome 24, No. 8 Othello 21
Nolan Wright threw three touchdown passes, two to Alex Miller, and the Mariners stunned Othello at home in the first round for the second consecutive season.

The Omak defense got two big defensive stops in the final 2:44, including Teagun Haigh’s pick off Easton Singleton inside the Pioneers’ 10 with 23 seconds to go.

Quarterback Jabez Boyd continued his torrid play with a career-high 504 passing yards and five touchdowns, including three scores to receiver Kyien Hamilton in a win.

For the second time in three weeks, the Cougars’ defense got a red-zone stop to turn away the Wildcats’ tying bid — this time on Uriah Carlston’s game-sealing interception.

Eight players scored touchdowns as Liberty Christian — last season’s 1B state runner-up — advanced to quarterfinals again.

Pirates had highest scoring total in first round, piling up 554 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground, paced by Kyzer Herres’ 247 yards and six scores.
