CLASS 1B
No. 1 DeSales 26, No. 2 Liberty Christian 14
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
Caleb Bingham’s 100-yard interception return for a touchdown early in the second quarter triggered a devastating turnaround as DeSales scored 26 unanswered points to wipe out a two-touchdown deficit to win its first 1B championship.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: Bingham was camped in the middle of the field, and picked off Trenten Ralston at the goal line and returned the interception 100 yards for a score to trim Liberty Christian’s lead to 14-6 with 10:58 to go in the first half.
Key stat: DeSales forced five Patriots turnovers over the final three quarters, including three interceptions of Ralston. The final fumble led to Cohen Wood’s decisive 34-yard touchdown run with 2:03 remaining.
State history: This is the first 1B championship in program history for DeSales, and sixth overall. The Irish won 2B titles 1991, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2007.

CLASS 1A
No. 1 Royal 21, No. 2 Cashmere 20
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
After driving 92 yards to score a touchdown on Rylan Hatmaker’s 2-yard run with 18 seconds remaining, the Bulldogs went for the win on a two-point conversion. But wide receiver Isaac Zavala’s pass was inches wide of Logan Spies’ grasp.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: Cashmere coach Bryan Bremer said the team has eight two-point conversion plays, and liked the look to line up Zavala on a misdirection pass play. Spies was open in right corner, but Royal got just enough pressure to affect throw.
Key stat: Once again, Royal junior running back Dax Jenks was a difference-maker, rushing for a game-high 143 yards and a touchdown, and catching two passes for 101 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown down the right sideline in the first half.
State history: Royal has now won each of the past six 1A championships — the only school in WIAA history to win six consecutive state football titles. This is the 14th title overall for the Knights, who also won the 1A crown in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

CLASS 3A
No. 1 O’Dea 21, No. 2 Mount Tahoma 14
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
Trailing with 5 1/2 minutes remaining, O’Dea drove 67 yards for the game-winning touchdown — coming on a Hutton Leverett 30-yard pass to Owen Brustkern down the middle of the field — with 1:27 remaining.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: The final scoring play was something O’Dea put in the game plan this week. On third down, Brustkern snuck out of the backfield and sprinted down the left seam. Nobody followed. Leverett put a soft pass on the money.
Key stat: Both defenses did their part in a brutally-physical four quarters. The Irish barely outgained Mount Tahoma, 248-223. The Thunderbirds registered six tackles for loss, to O’Dea’s five.
State history: This is the second time O’Dea has won back-to-back state titles — both in 2024-25 and 1994-95. This is the sixth WIAA football championship for O’Dea and coach Monte Kohler.

CLASS 2B
No. 3 Tri-Cities Prep 47, No. 1 Toledo 34
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
The Jaguars forced four second-half turnovers, including recovering three fumbles in a four-minute span in the third quarter to wipe out a 14-0 deficit. Karter Gadish’s 35-yard interception return for a touchdown with 2:38 remaining clinched the win.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: Even with the rash of fumbles, Toledo still had a chance to tie the game in the final three minutes, trailing 41-34. But Eli Weeks’ pass to the left flat was picked off by Gadish, who went down the right sideline for the decisive score.
Key stat: The combined 81 points was the most scored in a 2B championship game since 1997 when DeSales handled Mossyrock, 61-28, in the Tacoma Dome. The Jaguars’ 47 points were the 10th time a 2B winner scored 40 or more points.
State history: This is the first 11-man football state title for Tri-Cities Prep, which also won the eight-man championship as a 1B program in 2009.

CLASS 2A
No. 1 Archbishop Murphy 35, No. 2 Tumwater 20
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
The favored Wildcats scored a pair of first-quarter touchdowns, but needed a late Jack Sievers 35-yard catch-and-run touchdown with less than three minutes remaining to finally put away the Thunderbirds, and win their first Class 2A title since 2016.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: After Tumwater cut the Wildcats’ lead to 28-20 on Mason Houskeeper’s 61-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 3:43 remaining, Evan Ruiz found Sievers in the left flat. He outraced two Tumwater defenders to the end zone.
Key stat: The winner of the Wing-T rushing attack was … Archbishop Murphy, which rolled up 247 rushing yards, led by Isaiah Smith’s 169 yards and pair of touchdowns.
State history: This is the second 2A state championship for Archbishop Murphy, which also won a 2A title in 2016. The Wildcats won back-to-back 1A titles the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

CLASS 4A
No. 5 Sumner 41, No. 2 Lake Stevens 35 (OT)
Live updates | Bracket | Box score | Game story | Gallery | Highlights
In overtime, the Sumner defense stopped Lake Stevens quarterback Blake Moser short of a first down on fourth-and-1, and Lance McGee won it for the Spartans with his 1-yard touchdown run, tying a WIAA championship-game record with six touchdown runs.
Here are three quick notes from the game:
Pivotal play: McGee scored the game winner, but Sumner defensive back Elias Tulifua got backfield pressure on the Vikings’ fourth-down play from the Spartans’ 4, and did just enough to disrupt Moser into no gain.
Key stat: Right now, the WIAA stats have McGee had 48 carries, 435 yards and six touchdowns. It will be updated with an official count in coming days. His total is more than 300 yards, which is a 4A championship game record.
State history: Sumner completed back-to-back state championship seasons for the first time in program history with Saturday’s win, after also lifting the 4A trophy here last December. The Spartans now have four state football titles, also winning championships in 1975 (3A) and 1977 (4A).
