Update, Oct. 24: Congratulations to Chiawana tight end and linebacker Gage Williams, who was voted as VarsityWA’s Football Athlete of the Week for Week 7 by readers.
The senior’s two blocked punts in the second half not only led to 10 points, but sparked Riverhawks to 24-10 win over Kennewick for MCC lead. Williams also, knocked down three passes, had a sack and forced a fumble at linebacker.

Original post, Oct. 20: The seventh week of the high school football season in Washington featured big individual performances on offense, defense and special teams.
Here are 10 standouts up for VarsityWA’s Football Athlete of the Week voting after Week 7:
Chris Britt, Monroe: Completed 19-of-33 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns, added 41 rushing yards and a score and had an interception on defense in the Bearcats’ 34-21 win over Shorecrest.
Elijah Durr, Mount Tahoma: With the T-Birds trailing to Gig Harbor, the UW commit returned two punts for touchdown (46 and 65 yards) six minutes apart in the third quarter to fuel 27-14 comeback.
Julian Hayes, Interlake: Completed 16-of-20 passes for 330 yards and six touchdowns, and added 72 rushing yards and a score in the Saints’ 48-7 win over Cedarcrest. Has accounted for 28 touchdowns this season.
Colt Landstrom, Elma: One of state’s receiving leaders had 12 catches for 179 yards and four touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime as the Eagles defeated Black Hills, 34-28.
Jet Ross, Mount Baker: Hauled in seven passes for 119 yards and four touchdowns, including his game-winning 23-yard score with 50 seconds remaining in the Mountaineers’ 34-33 win over Lynden Christian. Now has 14 TD catches this fall.
Mason Stinson, Cheney: Quarterback-turned-receiver caught seven passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns, including decisive 7-yard score with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in Blackhawks’ 24-14 win over Mead.
Brandon Tagle, Kentwood: Ignited big 4A NPSL comeback by completing 18-of-38 passes for 317 yards and three touchdowns, and adding 82 rushing yards as Conquerors wiped out 30-point deficit to beat Auburn in overtime, 50-44.
Tanner Tompkins, Tonasket: First-year wide receiver led the Tigers with a career-high 10 receptions for 182 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-7 victory at Manson.
Chace Webster, Olympic: One week after rushing for a career-high 315 yards, the senior reset the program record with 346 yards on 19 carries, including six touchdowns in the Trojans’ 59-14 win over Sequim.
