The 11th week of the high school football season in Washington featured big individual performances on offense, defense and special teams.
Here are 10 standouts up for VarsityWA’s Football Athlete of the Week voting after state first round games:
Jabez Boyd, Life Christian: Completed 35-of-42 passes for a career-high 504 yards and five touchdowns on offense, and had an interception on defense in the Eagles’ 35-7 win over Nooksack Valley.
Kyien Hamilton, Life Christian: Senior wide receiver hauled in a career-high 14 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 35-7 win over Nooksack Valley.
Zeke Hawkins, Anacortes: Sophomore picked off Steilacoom QB Titus Kaeka three times, returning two of them for touchdowns (94, 44 yards) as the Seahawks’ defense forced nine turnovers in a 45-7 win. Also caught four passes for 35 yards.
Immanuel Jordan, Lincoln of Tacoma: Safety scooped up a fumble and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter — and got the hit on Rainier Beach’s Esquire Williams that led to Noah Dennis’ pick-six in a 28-19 win.
Jonah Keller, Gonzaga Prep: Rushed for 148 of the team’s 357 yards on seven carries, including an 87-yard score among his three touchdown runs in a 42-0 win over Curtis in Spokane.
Blake Moser, Lake Stevens: In his first WIAA playoff start at quarterback, junior completed 10-of-12 passes for 215 yards and five touchdowns, and added 57 rushing yards in the Viks’ 55-14 victory over Kamiakin.
Isaiah Owens, Glacier Peak: Was the driving force in the Grizzlies’ second-half comeback to topple No. 4 seed Chiawana with two of his three touchdowns, finishing with 171 yards on 23 carries in a 38-18 victory in Pasco.
Greyson Stevens, East Valley of Yakima: Montana commit caught nine passes for 193 yards and four touchdowns, and also had an interception and tackle for loss on defense in the Red Devils’ 56-22 win over Burlington-Edison.
Eli Weeks, Toledo: Dominated on both sides for the No. 1 Riverhawks, passing for 229 yards and two touchdowns, and rushing for 79 yards and two more scores on offense, and returning an interception 39 yards for a touchdown in a 45-14 win over Columbia of Burbank.
George Woods, Graham-Kapowsin: Freshman safety recorded three second-half interceptions, including one to stop a Kennedy Catholic drive in the end zone in the Eagles’ 34-7 win. The defense forced six turnovers overall.
